Bio
Boris began directing while in the Theatre program at Florida International University, and continued through his Post-Grad training at Mountview Theatre school. Returning to New York after his studies, Boris directed over 10 shows in 6 years, developing his craft as a story-teller and his concept of theatre.
Since his first directing effort, Boris’s goal has been to create theatre that is for and about the audience watching it. Employing elements such as direct address to the audience and multi-media (music, paintings, projections and animation), Boris aims to create theatre that is relevant and to which the audience can relate.
In 2001, Boris began creating theatre under his own brand, Theatre of Relativity, with Matt Tomasino’s Lucas and Zoë. Most recently, Theatre of Relativity produced Mac Rogers’ The Sky Over Nineveh on the mainstage at HERE Arts Center.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, Boris began working on writing and directing for the screen. His first film “Unbreaking Up” played in festivals around the country and whet his appetite for writing and directing. He is currently in post-production on a short comedy and a feature-length documentary, with several other projects in pre-production.
