Boris began writing for stage, having several short plays produced by Manhattan Theatre Source and producing others — including his one-man show “dia10gue” — under his banner of Theatre of Relativity. Though not technically writing, his translation of Chekhov’s “Three Sisters”, produced at Manhattan Theatre Source, was very well reviewed by the New York Times.
Moving to Los Angeles in 2004, Boris began writing for the screen. His first short, based on a monologue from his one-man show, was “The Most Useful Word”, which premiered at the Faux Film Festival and can be viewed online here. His second, “Unbreaking Up” played at festivals around the country, winning an award at the Indie Gathering festival. You can view the trailer or the entire film here. His latest film writing effort, “Purgatory, Inc.” has just been completed and is being pitched as the pilot for a web series.
Currently, Boris is writing and directing a documentary with Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt, and is refining two spec pilot scripts.
